The Perfect Family Christmas Photos! (dun dun dun!) Someone please tell me why I have to put so much pressure on myself to plan the perfect outfits in the perfect place to get the perfect shot. Ah! It’s too much! Especially at this time of year.
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Kennedy’s birthday are all right around the corner (oh and I just started school!) so we have plenty on our plates right now, but thanks to this new-ish trend of beautiful Holiday photo cards I feel like the pressure is on to keep up! But why??
It starts with outfit planning. PinkBlush sent me this beautiful olive-green dress (uhm hello cute sleeves) which I thought would be a great place to start. So, I went on a hunt for coordinating-but-not-too-coordinating outfits for Nate and Kennedy. I’m telling you I went to at least 8 different stores and I couldn’t find anything I was happy with! You know what? They wore clothes they’ve had forever and have both worn multiple times. And you know what else? It doesn’t matter! Everyone was comfortable and happy!
My awesome younger sister loves photography and is always up for a little photo shoot. Thankfully she agreed to take a few photos while we were visiting for a pre-Thanksgiving family Thanksgiving. AFTER we ate, we went out in the neighborhood to get the photos. Why did I think photos after Thanksgiving dinner was a good idea?? Oh well, we rolled ourselves out the door and got it done.
In the end, in a mix of old and new outfits and bellies full of turkey we got some really cute shots, we might even have one worthy of the perfect family Christmas card!
Here are a few of the funnier ones I thought I’d share:
